On 22 August 2026, over 280 guests gathered at Holiday Inn Newport for the second edition of South Wales African Vibes (SWAV 2.0)— a vibrant celebration of African culture, community and connection. With the theme “Lagos Party Live in Newport”, the evening brought together people from different cultures and communities for an unforgettable experience of music, food, fashion, dance and entertainment.
We were honoured to welcome The Right Worshipful Mayor of Newport, Councillor Deb Harvey, and her Consort, Councillor Tim Harvey, alongside guests who travelled from across Wales, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and beyond.
More than an evening of celebration, SWAV continues to create a space where cultures meet, relationships are built and communities come together. One Night. Many Cultures. Unforgettable Vibes. Enjoy more highlights from SWAV 2.0 below.
